Melvin Edgar Eggett, 86, of Radford, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011. He was a member of Snowville Baptist Church and a retired aircraft mechanic. He was a U. S. Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Donna J. Eggett; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebekah and David Pople of Australia and Naomi and Bill Henson of Conover, NC; three sons and daughters-in-law Nate Eggett of Summerville, SC, Daniel and Patricia Eggett of Taylors, SC, and Ben and Sandy Eggett of Mt. Sterling, KY; brother William Eggett of Alameda, CA; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Friday, July 29, 2011 at 6 pm at the Snowville Baptist Church with Rev. Neil Wood officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Snowville Baptist Church.
