Mary Elizabeth Abbott Viars, 83, of Radford, went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 29, 2010. She was an active member of First Baptist Church for thirty eight years. Survivors include a loving and devoted husband of sixty three years, Lewis Edward Viars; son and daughter-in-law Tony and Sharon Viars of Radford; daughter and son-in-law Pamela and Ernie Baker of Natural Bridge; brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Doris Abbott of Bedford; four grandsons Brandon Viars of Knoxville, TN, Justin Viars of Richmond, KY, Allan Blevins of Fl, and Daniel Blevins of Natural Bridge; and four great grandchildren Gabby Blevins, Jacob Blevins, Dillon Blevins and William Blevins. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Radford on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Paul Lane officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church Endowment Fund, 215 Third Avenue, Radford, VA 24141. The family also would like to thank family, friends, neighbors, church members, doctors and her nurses for all their support over the past three years.
