Mary Bacon Porter, 99, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Kroontje Health Care Center in Blacksburg. She was a member of The First Baptist Church in Radford and a retired manager with Sears for over 25 years. She was preceded in death in 1961 by her husband H. T. Porter. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, and special friend Vada Boyd of Radford. Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday January 10, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Radford with Dr. Paul Lane and Rev. Kent Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Porter requested that memorial contributions be made to the Vision Property Fund of First Baptist Church in Radford. The family would like to extend special thanks to The Kroontje Health Care Center and Good Samaritan Hospice for the excellent care given to Mary. The Porter family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
