Mary Jo Motty, 71, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Heritage Hall in Blacksburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lena Chilelli Longo. Mary Jo is survived by her loving husband of 50 years David Motty; son, Mike Motty of Christiansburg; daughter, Lisa Motty Jones of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Cory and Kayleigh Jones; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Emily Longo of Erie, PA; and her feline friends Miss Kitty and Toby. The family would also like to thank the entire staff at Heritage Hall, Blue Ridge Cancer Center, and Good Samaritan Hospice. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018 or to a charitable organization of your choice. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Monday, July 20, 2015 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Christiansburg with Father Jarowslaw (Jarek) Nowacki. Interment will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
