Marita Kast Turman Whitlock, 57, passed away Friday, February 20, at her home in Christiansburg. She was a member of the Tower of Refuge Church in Dublin. Survivors include her husband, James E. Whitlock, Christiansburg; daughter, Valerie Richards, Floyd; son, Scott Turman, Radford; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis and Linda Kast, Christiansburg and Glenn and Cheryl Kast, Riner; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Imogene and Elwood Barker, Riner, Bonita and Timmy Harrison, Floyd, Doris Stafford, Blacksburg, Frances and Sam Hinkley, and Virginia and Roger Harman all of Christiansburg; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Glennard Quesenberry and Rev. Cecil Albano officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made the Carilion Hospice, 700 Randolph Street, Suite #251, Radford, VA 24141. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. The Whitlock family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
