Marie Scott Simpkins, 80 of Radford, passed away Monday, July 2, 2007 at Highland Ridge Rehab. She was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Radford and previously worked for Burlington Mills as a bookkeeper. She was born in Snowville the daughter of the late Edgar L. and Nina Newby Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Rudolph Simpkins. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Troy David Simpkins and Kathy Acosta of Radford; her daughter, Lisa Dawn Simpkins of Huntersville, NC; four sisters and brother-in-law, Verna Simpkins of Pulaski, Eunice Marshall of Draper, Virginia Simpkins of Dublin, and Irene and Robert Brown of Riverview, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, George and Delores Scott of Salem; and special friend, Shirley Reed of Radford. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. David Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park in Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
