Marie Young Dillon Blankenship, 91, of Radford, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014. She was a member of The Fairlawn Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arnold M. Dillon and Douglas Blankenship. Survivors include her son, Gerald M. Dillon of Moneta; daughters, Diane D. Simpson of Radford and Dreama D. Nester of Woodstock; stepdaughter, Jean Siner; grandchildren, Trey Simpson, Renee Koontz and Eric Nester; 8 great grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lavie Coltrane of Max Meadows; and numerous other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Marie's special niece, Marsha Via, for her loving care of Mom. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Fairlawn Fire Dept. or Heritage Church, 6195 Cleburne Blvd, Dublin, VA 24084.
