Margie Houck Collins, 83 of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 24, 2008 in River Oaks Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born on November 29, 1924 in Valdese, NC the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. J. G. Houck of Christiansburg. She was a member of the West Radford Church of God and retired from Hampton Textile Mills in Kinston, NC. She made Christiansburg her home for 25 years before moving to Jackson, MS. She was a loving mother and her warmth and compassion inspired us all. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband George Collins. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Patsy and Rev. Ken Hall of Jackson, MS and Judy and William Clements of Hilton Head, SC; one granddaughter Kendra Hall of Jackson, MS; one sister Lavada Dickie Garber of Christiansburg; two brothers Rev. Ken Houck of Clearwater, FL and Ted Houck of Harrison, MI. She also leaves a loving family of nieces, nephews and cousins who will dearly miss her. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the West Radford Church of God with Rev. Ken Hall, Pastor Arthur Harris and Rev. James Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg with Rev. Terry Hart of Little Rock, Arkansas officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church. The Collins family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
