Margaret Sowers Turpin, 66, of Christiansburg, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013. She was a member of Cornersview Pentecostal Holiness Church and a LPN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Sylvia Sowers, son, Mark Allen Turpin, daughter, Lisa Gale Turpin, and brothers, Ronald Lee, Howard and Larry Sowers. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Wendell W. Turpin; sons, Anthony William Turpin of Christiansburg, and Timothy Andrew Turpin and friend Kim Shelor of Floyd; grandchildren, Matthew William Turpin and Taylor Renee Turpin; and sister, Judy Scott and her husband Tommy of Christiansburg. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Frankie Graham officiating. Interment will follow in the Pentecostal Conference Cemetery in Dublin. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, 190 Depot Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073.
