Madalon Rodgers Vaughn, 91, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at her home in Radford. She was manager for the RU Bookstore for 34 years and a member of the Radford Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Willard Vaughn and a grandson, Adam Vaughn Craighead. Survivors include her children Sandy V. Craighead of Radford, and Alan Vaughn and his wife Debra Lynn Gold of Atlanta, GA; grandsons, Brian Craighead of Dallas, TX and Tom Vaughn and his wife Lynne Boxer of Olney, MD; great-grandson, Alexander Vaughn and his mother, Betsy Sharon of Silver Spring, MD. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 7 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Dr. Hal Adams and Father Michael Flanagan officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 5:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Radford Worship Center, Transitional House (supporting homeless women and children), 1820 Second Street, Radford, Virginia 24141.
