Mabel Beasley Nester, 93, of New River, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was born October 3, 1915 to the late Richard and Hattie Beasley of Hillsville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Nester, a daughter, Nancy Carolyn Nester, six brothers, Robert, Ervin, Chester, Cody, Paul and Joe Beasley, and three sisters, Verlie White, Hazel Semones and Helen Pace. Left to cherish her memory is her son and daughter-in-law, Ivan and Ruby Nester of Ferrum; grandchildren Tina and Jon Hardy of Springfield, Daren and Cheryl Nester of Woodbridge, Alysia and Richard Bayliff of Warrenton and Lonnie and Shelley Sloan of Ferrum; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a faithful member of Morgans Chapel UMC in New River and a retired employee of Radford Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at Morgans Chapel UMC in New River on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Darlene Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends at Mullins Funeral Home in Radford, Tuesday, June 9, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr Thaddeus Lee and to the staff of Carilion Hospice of Franklin County for their excellent care and compassion during her illness.
