On Monday, August 29, 2016, Heavens gates were opened and an angel Lula B. "Granny" Harris went to be with Jesus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin J. Harris; one son, Lester Dale Harris; and great grandson, Justin Helms. She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters and sons-in-law, Evona Helms of Meadows of Dan, Hettie and Ted Webb of Belspring, and Barbara and Cliff Luckado of Radford; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Terry Harris of Orange; eight grandchildren and their loving families, Dennis Helms, Clayton Helms, Julie Harris, Jennifer Harris Turner, Allen Hopkins, Roger Harris II, Miranda Livermore and Daniel Harris; step grandchildren, Vickie Williams, Melissa Bratton and Renee Browning; sixteen great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Special thanks to Ledford and Alphia Bolt for all the love and kindness they showed her. Ma Harris will be remembered for the many years that she kept children and by the many children that she helped raise. She was a long time member of the East Radford Church of God where she taught the nursery class for over 44 years, giving it up at the age of 87. Many thanks to the Pulaski Health and Rehab Center for the loving care she received there after being unable to stay at home any longer. The family appreciates your loving care. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the East Radford Church of God with Rev. James Walker, Rev. Wayne Poston and Rev. Doug Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Willis Cemetery in Willis. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
