Lula Blanche Whittaker Collins, 76, of Radford, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bielia Whittaker, husband, Melvin Buford Collins, son, Ronald Buford Collins, and grandchildren, Annette Morris and Zane Gray Powers. Survivors include her children, Shirley (David) Hopkins, Jerry Collins, Frederick Collins, and Loretta (Stephen) Nester; siblings, Roby Whittaker, Charles Rodney Whittaker, Carrie Barnett and Pedie Phillips; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 5, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Jim Alley officiating. Entombment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 pm until 2 pm. The Collins family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
