Lula Bell Blevins Carter, 65 of Dublin, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband Utah H. Carter. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Kay and Teddy Porterfield of Roanoke, and Judy and Curtis Snider of Dublin; a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Lynn Carter of Dublin; seven grandchildren Kendra and Cortney Porterfield, Danielle Carter, Daniel Howard, Tonya McGinnis, and Cody and Chelsey Snider; two great-grandchildren, Kaytlin and Preston; four brothers Johnny Blevins of Belspring, Wayne Blevins of Galax, and Danny and Melvin Douglas Blevins, both of Radford; and two sisters Blanche Sapp of Roanoke and Wanda Francisco of Blacksburg. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter Cemetery in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Carter family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
