She joined First Baptist Church in Radford in 1940 and over the years had served her Lord in Sunday School, as a member of circle and WMU, and on many committees of the church. She was also a member of the Wildwood Garden Club and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. Louise retired from Leggetts Dept Store where she worked for many years. She was an avid fan of the Radford Bobcats and the VT Hokies. Louise was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother but she will best be remembered for her faith, love, care, support, joy, laughter, and her sweet smile for her family and for all who knew and loved her. Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; her daughter, Ann Sutton; son, Bill Stafford, Jr.; her parents, James Cleveland and Lucille Bonham Wright; two sisters and eight brothers. She is survived by a special grandson and his wife, Kirk and Tanya Sutton; precious great granddaughter, Haley Ann Sutton; step great grandchildren, Aaron and Megan Leonard, and Madison Bland; daughter-in-law, Mildred "Mert" Stafford; special niece, Donna Gilmore and her husband Guy; and special friends Mitzi (an "adopted daughter") and her husband Wayne Barnett, Nelson Sifford, and Barbara Newcomb; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Jessie and the rest of the Intrepid Hospice group, Alisha Hoops, and Jody Mills, for the compassion and care for the last few months. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022, at the First Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kent Taylor and Rev. Jim Baucom officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park in Fairlawn.
