Lillian Crosby Forbes, 85, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mollie and Charlie Crosby, her brother, Wilburn, sisters, Virginia and Amy, and her husband, William Forbes. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Cleon Basham of Christiansburg; one brother, Thomas Crosby of Leesburg, GA; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jamie and Paul Rizak of Oak Harbor, WA, and Amanda and Danny Collins of Christiansburg. We would like to thank Carilion Hospice and Dr. Lee, her caregivers Lois, Irene, Bonnie, Linda and Alice for their great care of my mother, and neighbors, Mary Anne and Hazel. Funeral services, and a memorial service for William Forbes who died October 2006, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor John Collins officiating. A Graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia, North Carolina. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Carilion Hospice, 707 Randolph Street, Suite 251, Radford, VA 24141.
