Lila Phillips Laxton, 94, of Riceville, TN formally of Dublin, passed away on February 29, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover Lee and Laura Alice Montgomery Phillips and her husband William Burl Laxton. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Nancy L. and John Jones of Riceville, TN and Marie Shields of Newbern; six grandchildren James Shields, Allen Dale Shields, William Bruce Shields, Robin Fisher, John Jones, Jr. and Susan Knight; and six great grandchildren Meghan Fisher, Luke Fisher, Haley Jones, Kelsey Jones, Marley Jones, and John Hamilton Shields. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. John E. Jones Jr. officiating. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
