Lelia Morgan Helms, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, December 30, 2024. She was born July 7, 1934 to the late Arthur and Lelia Morgan. Lelia is a member of Cambria Baptist Church, where she raised her children to love the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Donald Helms; 5 brothers, Buddy, Robert, James, George, and Ira; and 6 sisters, Annalee, Mamie, Ruth, Nellie, Betty, and Peggy. Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Jeffrey Helms (Laura), Randy Helms (Debbie), Johnny Helms (Tammy), and Larry Helms (Teri); daughters, Beverly Amburgey, and Cindy Carroll (Leon); 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Eula Kilby and the staff at Carilion Hospice for their loving care of Lelia. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
