LaVonne Doris Rosenberg, 83 of Blacksburg, VA passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008. She was retired from the Dept. of the Navy as an administrative assistant after 37 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband Sidney Rosenberg, a brother Gene M. Fisher and a great-grandson, Lucas Sutphin. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Past Virginia State President Colonial Dames of the XVII Century and Past Senior National Officer of the National Society Children of the American Revolution. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Marsha and Wayne McNatt of Fairview, TX and Theresa Flinchum of Blacksburg, VA; four grandchildren Michael Davison of San Francisco, CA, Robert Gallana of Springfield, MO, Regina Sutphin of Christiansburg, VA and Talmadge Flinchum of Blacksburg, VA; and four great-grandchildren Caitlyn and Madelyn Gallana and Wyatt and Garrett Sutphin A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairfax Memorial Park in Fairfax, VA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford, VA. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Virginia Society Children of the American Revolution (VSCAR), P.O. Drawer O, Blacksburg, VA 24063. The Rosenberg family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
