Obituary

Kevin M. Tapp, age 45, formerly of Radford, passed away on November 2, 2015 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was born in Palo Alto, California to Ken and Kathy Tapp on May 5, 1970. Kevin graduated from Parker High School in 1988, from Grinnell College in 1992, and from the University of Oklahoma with a masters degree in library of science in 1998. Kevin was a free spirit with a big heart who lived life adventurously. He had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially rock climbing. He played jazz and classical piano, and was an avid chess player. He was a creative thinker, intrigued by science. Kevin worked as the director of the The Harvey Center in the Waldron College of Health Sciences at Radford University for many years. He spent time as a forest ranger in Big Bend, Texas, and worked in a camp for the disabled in Breckinridge, Colorado. Kevin is survived by his beloved daughters Zoe Alexis Tapp (12) and Summer Elizabeth Tapp (11) of Radford, Va.; his parents Ken and Kathy Tapp of Janesville, Wis.; his brother Kristopher Tapp of Philadelphia, Pa.; and his sister Katrina Janes of Janesville, Wis. He also leaves behind his nephew Geoffrey Janes of Janesville, Wis. and nieces Willow Tapp of Philadelphia, Pa. and Alexandria Janes of Indiana. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
