Kenneth Bentley Hite, Sr., 77, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a retired mail carrier with U. S. Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Gordon and Virginia Ellen Roop Hite. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Rita Bond Hite; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth "Chuck", Jr. and Carol Hite of Fredericksburg, Howard Thomas and Maria Hite of LeMoore, CA, and James Michael and Jenny Hite of Radford; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Bill Tolbert of Danville, KY; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church in Radford with Pastor Brian Cockram officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:30 pm until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to your local Salvation Army or Gideon International. The Hite family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
