Kenneth Duane (K.D.) Farris, Sr., 81, of the Robinson Tract community, died Monday, June 4. Born December 15, 1930 in Allisonia, he was the son of the late James Henry and Beulah Rigney Farris. For 35 years, he was an employee of Baggett Transportation, in addition to owning and maintaining his family farm on Robinson Tract Road. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, James Gary Farris. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Nancy Halsey Farris. He is also survived by his children: Lynn Seiler and husband, Jon, of Orlando, Fla., Kenneth Farris, Jr. and his wife Kathy, of Pulaski, Dr. Mark Farris of Morganton, N.C.; two step-children: Sharon Hardy and husband David, and Mike Vickers, all of Pulaski; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Farris will be cremated. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, June 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on Robinson Tract Road, followed immediately by a memorial service, with the Rev. Teresa Talbert officiating.
