June Loraine Showalter, 79, passed away Monday, March 17, 2008 in Brandon Oaks Nursing and Rehab in Roanoke. She was a member of the Radford Christian Church. She was born June 28, 1928 in Leesburg the daughter of the late W. N. and Lura Malinda Showalter. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Donald and William N. Showalter, and a sister Joanna Showalter. Survivors include two sisters and brother-in-law Judith and Raleigh Sandy of Blacksburg and Malinda Alice Lareau of Warren, PA; a brother and sister-in-law Robert H. and Barbara Showalter of Woodlawn; sister-in-law Lina Showalter of Century, FL; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the employees of Brandon Oaks for making her 29 year stay enjoyable and pleasant. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the West View Cemetery in Radford with Rev. Gina Rhea officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Brandon Oaks, 3837 Brandon Ave., SW, Roanoke, VA 24018. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The Showalter family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
