Judy Richmond Young, 67, of Radford, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013. Judy was an active member of Snowville Christian Church. She was also a member of the Virginia Garden Club and a flower show judge. During her time living in Covington, she owned Old Colonial Bakery and Catering. She was also employed at Radford University and Virginia Tech, where she retired from in 2011. She was preceded in death by husband, Gordon Young and infant daughter, Katherine. She is survived by sons, Steven Light and Alan Light; daughter-in-law, Chrissie Light; granddaughters, Amanda and Katherine Light; mother, Frances Cales; sisters, Rebecca Carroll, Debbie Vanderheydt, Juanita Evans, Bonnie Leger and Tammi Klein; brother, Tommy Carroll; dear cousin, Carolyn Jones; and her special Pomeranian, Cindy Sue. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Snowville Christian Church, 5436 Lead Mine Road, Hiwassee, VA 24347. www.snowvillechristian.org.
