Jourleen Sheppard Thornton, 82 of Radford, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was attended the First Christian Church in Radford and retired from RAAP. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Clinton Thornton, Sr., brothers, Jim and Frank Sheppard, and sisters, Violia Ratcliffe and Robbie Price. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles C., Jr. and Teresa Thornton of Radford; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Michael Anderson of Radford and Ginger and James Bo Hall of Pulaski; five grandchildren, Melanie Minnick and her husband Kenny, Amy Arnold, Josh Hall, and Zach and Emily Thornton; three great-grandchildren, Steve Minnick and his wife Amanda, Scarlett Hamberg and Jasmine Dolinger; a sister, Madeline Shepherd; and a brother and sister-in-law, E. O. and Joyce Sheppard. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Gina Rhea officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made the First Christian Church, 400 Tyler Avenue, Radford, VA 24141. The Thornton family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
