Joseph Noblin Buddy Lawson, Jr., 71, of Dublin, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011. He was an electrical engineer having retired from Kollmorgen with over 30 years of service and a U. S. Army veteran having served in Germany. He was an active member of the Fairlawn Baptist Church where he served as both a deacon and trustee. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Noblin, Sr. and Frances DeHart Lawson and sister Sherry L. Duncan. Survivors include his wife Connie Graham Lawson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deeann and Burke Kidd of Kernersville, NC and Lisa and Rob Helmick of Botetourt; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Abigail, Grace, Luke, Sara, Rachel and James; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis L. and Sandra Lawson of Fairlawn, and Randall K. and Diane Lawson of Dublin; brothers-in-law, Rudy Duncan of Riner and Thomas M. and Tita Graham of Dublin; and numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 11 am at the Fairlawn Baptist Church with Rev. Danny W. Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Fairlawn Baptist Debt Retirement Fund, 6758 Oxford Avenue, Fairlawn, VA 24141.
