Johnathan "Brian" Taylor, 55, passed away on July 13, 2024. At 17, Brian enlisted in the United States Army and later joined the Army National Guard, culminating in 21 years of honorable service. While in the Guard, he began a career as an educator where he developed a passion for teaching. After the birth of his two sons, Brian transitioned into civilian work for the Department of Defense serving for 22 years before returning to his true passion of teaching.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Morton Taylor; sons, Alexander and Andrew Taylor; mother, Sharon Lee Taylor; father, Roger Parks; and brother, Jason Taylor.
His warmth, intelligence, and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew him. A graveside service with full military honors to honor Brian's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
