John Wylie Patton, Jr., 83, of Radford, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. He was born March 27, 1927 the son of the late John W., Sr. and Rosa Lee Walker Patton. He was a member of the New Mount Olive Methodist Church and a U. S. Army veteran having served during WWII. Survivors include four children Debra F. Hendricks of Radford, Karen L. Rose and Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Russell W. Patton of Southlake, TX and Gregory S. Patton of Placentia, CA; spiritual son and his wife, Joe and Melissa Webb of Radford; grandchildren Lamar T. Hendricks of Dublin, Jonathan D. Rose and Nicole S. Rose both of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; a great grandchild Kyara D. Hendricks of Dublin; brothers and sisters Donald W. Patton of San Francisco, CA, Curtis C. Patton of Beaumont, CA, Robert L. Patton, Sr. of Big Stone Gap, VA and Peggy L. Hunter of Pearland, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of lifelong friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the New Mount Olive Methodist Church in Radford with Rev. Barbara Doyle and Rev. C. Coles Casey officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the New Mount Olive Methodist Church Childrens Fund in John Pattons name. The Patton family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
