John L. Munsey, 79, of Dublin, passed away Monday, August 30, 2010 at Pulaski Community Hospital. He was a U. S. Air Force and U. S. Army Veteran . He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Daisy Munsey, brothers James Henry, Robert Hudson, Roger Lee, Charles W. and his twin brother Harvey, and sister Mamie Crews. Survivors include his wife Brenda Hensley Munsey of Dublin; two children, Eddy Munsey of Little Creek and Georgia Kaufman of South Dakota; two stepchildren Roy Thompson, Jr. of Dublin and Crystal Underwood of Pilot; four grandchildren Libby Kaufman, Christopher Thompson, Ashley Thomas and Brandon Underwood; three great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Raymond Munsey of Boise, Idaho, Ralph Munsey, Ann Parsell, Gladys Harris, and Martha Cole, all of Pearisburg, Benny Munsey of Mt. Hope, WV, Maye Belle Midkiff of Staffordsville, and Wilma Midkiff of Bristol. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairlawn Church of God with Rev. Terry Bowden officiating. Interment will follow in the Munsey Family Cemetery in Pearisburg . The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
