John Gordon "Jack" Moss, on Friday, January 11, 2013, died peacefully in his Waynesboro home surrounded by his family. Jack was a 1954 graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in Chemical Engineering. After two years of service as a 1st Lieutenant in the U. S. Army, he attended MIT and received his Masters of Chemical Engineering. Jack settled his family in Waynesboro in 1964 where he worked for DuPont through his retirement. His greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Vernon and Sarah Elizabeth Moss, and sister, Barbara Brokaw. Survivors include his wife, Malone Lewis Moss; children born from his marriage with Patricia Buckley, Mary Elizabeth Moss Donnelly and her husband Kerry, John Damian Moss and his wife Maureen, Rebecca Louise Moss Ghezzi and her husband Roberto, Patricia Ann Moss and her partner Mary Morgan, Virginia Suzanne Moss Gabellieri and her husband Corrado, Christopher Vincent Moss and his wife Lisa; children brought to the family thru Jack's marriage to Malone, Cassandra Malone Lewis Boone and her husband, Harold, Peter Bowie Lewis, and Katherine Elizabeth Gregory; fifteen grandchildren, Kate, Sarah and Sean Donnelly, Sofia and Michela Ghezzi, Picco and Chiara Gabellieri, Kristina, Diana and Amanda Moss, Justin Racer, Annie Boone, Benjamin Gregory, Johnny Marks and Molly Finch; sister, Marilyn Aronson; sister-in-law, Roberta Powell and husband Stanley; and several nieces and nephews. A private remembrance celebration of Jack's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Duane Hahn Memorial Grant Program, PO Box 937, Waynesboro, VA, the Southern Care Hospice of Harrisonburg, the Parkinson's Foundation, or to the charity of your choice.
