John Evans Jeuck, 86, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010. He was preceded in death by his much loved wife of 49 years, Catherine Jones Jeuck. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Earl D. and Annette Goad Jeuck of Radford; a daughter, Jacki Johns of Salem, OR; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Frances Davis of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Jack graduated from South Pasadena High in California. He served three and a half years, 1943 1946, on the U.S.S. Vance DE 387 in the United States Coast Guard in the Mediterranean and Atlantic during WWII and served one year and 2 months, 1950 1951, on the U.S.S. Bradford DD 545 United States Navey off the coast of Korea during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Southern California Edison Company for 34 years before retiring in 1980 as Energy Services Supervisor, Eastern Division. He was a member of V. F. W. Post 776 where he served as Post Commander from 1986 1987, member of the American Legion Post #60, member of F.&A.M., and was Radford AARPs president for 20 years. He was an active member at Morgans Chapel United Methodist Church in New River where the member were friends as well as brothers and sisters in Christ. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 21, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Darlene Marshall officiating. Following the service, members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military rites. He will be buried with his wife in the Union Highland Cemetery in Florence, Colorado where there will be a brief military graveside service on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Morgans Chapel UMC, 6540 New River Road, Radford, VA 24141. The Jeuck family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
