John Lee Hinkley, Jr., 82, of Radford, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012. He was a member of the New River Baptist Temple and was retired from the U. S. Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents Johnnie and Margaret Elizabeth Hinkley, a son, Tommy Hinkley, and two brothers, Lonnie and Roger Hinkley. Survivors include his wife Betty W. Hinkley; son and daughter-in-law, David Allan and Belinda Hinkley of Dublin; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother Kenneth Hinkley of Radford; and sisters, Virginia Dunlow of Michigan, Doris Caldwell and Diane Meredith, both of Dublin, and Joyce Ritter of Parrott. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the New River Baptist Temple with Rev. Gary Stike officiating. Entombment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin where V. F. W. Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at the church. The Hinkley family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory
