John William "Pete" Bowman, 80, of Riner, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018. He was a self-employed concrete finisher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Bowman and Mary Reed; and his son, Carl David Bowman. Survivors include his wife, Mary Hypes Bowman of Riner; son, Johnny William Bowman, III of Christiansburg; daughter, Lisa Bowman Smith of Riner; stepsons, Freddy Vipperman of Christiansburg and Scotty Studebaker of Riner; grandchildren, Daniel, Crystal, Johnny IV, Bradley, Jessica, Nathan and Sheila; 7 great grandchildren; and special friend, Buddy Boy. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the West View Cemetery in Radford. The Bowman family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
