John Alexander "Bingo" Batten, Sr., 70, of Radford, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020. He was retired from VA Tech where he was a housekeeping manager. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Beryl Batten; and in January by his wife of 34 years, Catherine S. Batten. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Mike Bishop of Riner, Tina Ellison of Roanoke, and Debbie and Randy Bales of Radford; sons, Jason B. Batten of Radford, John A. Batten, Jr. of Christiansburg, and Kenneth R. Stoots, Jr. of Belspring; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. The family will receive from 5 until 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Entombment will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin.
