Joan Diane Hudson Easterling, 74, of Radford, died peacefully at her home Christmas Eve night after a brave battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents James Leonard and Dorothy Blair Hudson; and also her husband James Leo Easterling. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Lynn Easterling Phillips and Rick Arnold; her grandchildren Scott Phillips, Taryn Phillips and Carlton Staples, and Adam Phillips and Stacy Collins; her precious great grandsons, Hudson and Brady; several aunts, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; her best friend since childhood, Jane Ellen Morris; special friends Floe and Randy Miles, Johnny and Barbara McMullin and her Fairlawn Baptist Church family. The family wishes to thank Dr. Rotche, the nurses and staff of Blue Ridge Cancer Center, as well as Carilion Hospice especially Beverly and Karen for the loving care you provided. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Danny W. Collins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashland, Kentucky.
