Joan Nichols Bain, 84, of Christiansburg, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Virginia Nichols; son, Roger D. Bain; and sister, Joyce Ratcliff. Survivors include her husband, Matthew D. Bain; daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Barry Duncan of Radford; special daughter-in-law, Rita Kanode and her husband Terry of Christiansburg; nieces, Lisa Camp and Gwen Ratcliff; 4 grandchildren, Michelle Stafford, Kim Bain, Dawn Harrell and Zack Kanode; 12 great grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca, Jared, Jerry, Caitlin, Austin, Harper, Evans, Austin, Matt, Josh and Savannah; and 4 great great grandchildren, Lilly, Brenden, Kevin and Layla. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 am on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Bethel United Methodist Church. Memorial services will begin at 11 am with Rev. Bobby Lorton officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Bethel United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
