Obituary

Jo Ann Enochs Brown, 62, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at her home in Radford. She was an Associate Professor at Radford University. She was born January 9, 1950 in Tennessee, the daughter of the late Joseph Robertson JR Enochs, Jr. and Dorothy Ann Sanders Enochs. Jo Ann and her late husband Cecil J. Brown had what they called the "grand plan" to help guide them for their future. They went back to school and completed undergraduate degrees at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN. Jo Ann went on to the University of Florida at Gainesville, FL to complete her MBA and then to the University of Mississippi at Oxford, MS to complete her PhD in Management. Jo Ann had a passion for teaching and doing her research that encompassed her life. After graduating from "Ole Miss" Jo Ann accepted a teaching position at Radford University. She had found her nitch in academia. Although short lived, Jo Ann thoroughly enjoyed her students and the challenges of teaching at the University level. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, colleagues and students. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil, and her father, JR. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Scott and Stephanie Brown of Pennington, NJ; daughter, Laura Ann Brown of Blacksburg; four grandchildren, Alex Andres Roman, Sam Elliott Roman, Joseph Patrick JP Brown, and Paul Edward Trey Bowyer, III; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Sayer of Saraland, AL and Helen Clair Enochs of Dyersburg, TN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. In lieu of flowers, Christian Brothers University, 650 East Parkway, Memphis, TN 38104 or the Good Samaritan Hospice, 2408 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA 24018. The Brown family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
