Jessie James Maxie, 80, of Old Route 11, Dublin, formerly of Church Ave., Roanoke, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was born September 12, 1935 in Franklin County the son of the late John Thomas "Tommy" Maxie and Leonard Tilton Maxie. He was the last surviving sibling of 9 children in the family. Over the years he was employed in the dental lab industry and the County of Roanoke. Known by family and friends as "Jake", he loved trout fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Recently his new favorites were N.C. barbecue and coconut cake. He will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews in Va. and N.C.; a special friend, Ms. Brenda Gravely; and many other friends of years past. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
