Obituary

Jerry Lee Turner, 69, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 at his home in Christiansburg. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War and was retired from Lynchburg Foundry with 30 years service as a welder and a lab tech. Survivors include his wife, Reva P. Turner of Christiansburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven Scott and Melissa Turner of Riner; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carmen Cheney of Christiansburg, Rose and Frank Davis of Radford, and Lucy and Jeff Kimble of Moorefield, WV; one brother, Robin Franklin Turner of Blue Ridge, GA; one sister, Billie Chrisley of Radford; 9 grandchildren, David and Christopher Cheney, Amanda, Christopher and Skyler Minnick, Ashley and Travis Turner, and Katrina and Kassidy Kimble; and 4 great-grandchildren, Donavan, Trinity, and Hadyn Wall, and Precious Adams. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Radford with Bishop Jack McKinley and Bishop Jon Passic. Interment will be at 4:00 p.m. in the Popular Ridge Cemetery in Sutton, WV where members of the West Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. The Turner family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
