Jeffery Lynn Bailey, 58, of Pearisburg, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at his home. He was retired from the Radford City Police Department and served in the U. S. Marine Corp. He was preceded in death by his nephew Devin Lee Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Newman Bailey of Blacksburg; son Hunter Bailey of Pearisburg; his parents, Harry and Irene Bailey of Narrows; brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Connie Bailey of Narrows; sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Jerry Shepherd of Hickory, NC; stepchildren, Jennifer DeGuise of Radford, Samantha Sutherland of Pulaski, Jamie Lawson of Blacksburg, Justin Lawson of Charleston, SC, and Jordan DeGuise of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Memorial services will begin at 7:00 pm with Pastor Dick Gilbert and Jim Sasser officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association. The Bailey family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford, Virginia.
