Janet Stewart Mattox, 81, of Riner, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Edward Stewart and Pauline Thompson Stewart; her loving husband, William Ray Mattox; her daughter, Michelle "Shelly" Dickerson; and her grandson, Matthew Adam Semones. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Denise Hackney (Earnie) and Gayle Semones (Rev. Terry); son-in-law, David Dickerson, Sr.; grandchildren, David Dickerson, Jr. (Ashley), Andrew Dickerson, Carrie Simpkins, April Simpkins, Craig Simpkins (Sasha), and Teri Goodheart (Joel); 10 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Brenda Moore (Moe) and Joan Christian; and many other relatives and special friends. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ray McDaniel, Stewart Roberts and Rev. Terry Semones officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
