Janet Nester Duncan, 84, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016. She was married to the love of her life the late Lonnie Duncan, Jr. whom we know was waiting with loving open arms to welcome her to her heavenly home. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She retired from Radford Community Hospital where she was Director of Financial Counseling. She will always be remembered for her selfless, kind, loving and generous heart to family, friends and many people she didnt even know, through her service with the Radford/Fairlawn Daily Bread, the Linus Project and other Christian acts of kindness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Cloria Nester; and her husband. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Earl Smith of Radford; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Melissa Duncan of Mooresville, N.C.; grandchildren, Whitney Madison and her husband Jeff, Lindsey Smith, and Ashley, Anna, Abbey and Andrew Duncan; sister and brother-in-law, Janell and Don Dobbins of Radford; and brother and sister-in-law, Shurl, Jr. and Diane Nester of Christiansburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Dennis Curd officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
