James Thompson, 74 of Dublin, passed away Friday August 1, 2008. He was a retired Fighter Pilot for the US Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents Everette and Elizabeth Thompson. Survivors include his wife of 53 years Lucille Thompson of Dublin; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Denny Sowers of Blue Ridge, VA; son, James Thompson, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grand children, Scott Shomaker, Katelyn and Sarah Thompson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin with the V.F.W. Post #776 conducting Military Rites. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Principal Payment Fund at the Tower of Refuge Church P.O. 2243 Dublin, VA 24084. The family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home and Crematory in Radford.
