James Martin Sexton, 89, of Radford, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the Fumilas Home Place in Radford. James was a member of Carter Street United Methodist Church and was a well known carpenter in the community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elree Sexton in February, and a daughter, Kathy Sexton. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Julie Sexton of Radford; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Andrew Blake of Richmond; five grandchildren, Jeremy and LaurenBlake, and Zachary, Nathan and Bethany Sexton; and one sister, Ira Hairfield of Martinsville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Carter Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Kristie Banes officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Carter Street UMC, P O. Box 3296, Radford, VA 24143. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
