James Steven "Steve" Phillips, 61, of Snowville, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014. Steve fought a courageous battle for his family during his illness. He was a wonderful husband and father to his family, providing unselfishly for their needs. He will be greatly missed. He was an employee of Danaher Motion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Drexil H. and Eunice Ridpath Phillips. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Diana Phillips; sons, Chad Steven Phillips and Sarah Grace Raines, mother of the granddaughter and Cody Wyatt Phillips; granddaughter, Frankie-Lynn Rae Phillips; sister, Patricia Catron; father and mother-in-law, Gearld and Mae Henderson; and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 17, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Jerry Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg. The family would like to thank the physicians and staff at New River Valley Medical Center for their overflowing compassion, especially the doctor and Mr. Duck in the ER for all their help. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the funeral home. The Phillips family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
