James Edward Morrison, 85, of Christiansburg, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Jim was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and retired from Volvo Trucks. He was a member of and Past Master of VA May Lodge #38 A.F.&A.M. and Snowville Lodge #159 A.F.&A.M, past District Deputy Grand Master and a Shriner. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Sue Morrison; his wife, Erline C. Morrison; and daughter, Karen Adkins. Survivors include his son, Mike Morrison and Vanessa; daughter, Tracey Cater and Terry; grandchildren, Chris Morrison, Nikki Gearheart (Jeremiah), James Morrison (Chassidy), Matt Morrison (Caitlin), and Katie Cater; great grandchildren, Grayson, Caleb, Cara and Kingston; sister, Carole Gerald. The family would like to thank the staff at Warm Hearth Kroontje Center for all the tender care they provided Jim. The family will receive friends from 10 am until 12 pm on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Graveside services will be private.
