James Buddy William McDaniel, 79, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 2, 2009. He was a mechanic with Old Colony Box Company where he retired with over 44 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents William B. and Mamie Pannell McDaniel, a brother Donald McDaniel and a sister Daphine Robinson. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sylvia Duncan McDaniel; a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Edwina McDaniel; a daughter Debbie Sutphin; a granddaughter Kara Sutphin; and two grandsons Tyler and Justin McDaniel, all of Radford. Thank you to Carilion Hospice and to Pastor Jerry Gibson for all his many visits. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 4, 2009 at 12 Noon at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Glennard Quesenberry and Rev. Mike Lassiter officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. The McDaniel family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
