James "Jim" Jackson Thornton, 79, of Norrisville, MD, formerly of Snowville, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Virgie Thornton. Jim is survived by his wife, Mae S. Thornton; daughter, Denise Woods; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael "Butch" and Judy Thornton, and Doug and Amanda Thornton; other daughters, Elaine and Robin; grandchildren, Michael Davis, Mitchell Davis and his wife Megahn, and Jonah and Maddox Thornton; great grandson, Jackson Davis; several other grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Arnold and Mary Thornton, Joe and Dottie Thornton, and Winston and Rita Thornton; and numerous other relatives and friends. A Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 24, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Frankie Graham officiating.. Interment will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
