James Alton Hixon, 74, of Radford, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014. He was retired from the Town of Blacksburg and Corning Glass Works, and was a member of the National Guard for 6 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mackie Moore Hixon, and fourteen siblings. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Imogene Haines Hixon; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Tommy Witten; son, Robert Hixon; grandson, Capt. Justin Scott Witten; and a brother, a sister, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Allison Unroe officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service time.
