James Edward Harless, 79, of Parrott, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry with 33 years of service. He was a member for 57 years of Parrott United Methodist Church and volunteered for 20 years for Pulaski County Lifesaving Crew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James M. and Hazel Harless; sister, Helen Caldwell; and brother, Emory David Harless.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shirley S. Harless of Parrott; daughters and son-in-law, Susan Bell of Wytheville and Lindy and Dale Mann of Newbern; son, Jimmy Harless of Parrott; grandchildren and their spouses, Justin and Emily Mann of Newbern, and Jessica and Anthony McPeak of Riner; great grandsons, Ryan Mann and Jake McPeak; sister, Ella Roop of Prices Fork; brother-in-law, Kent Caldwell of Christiansburg; sisters-in-law, Marcy Harless of Radford, and Peggy and Tom Roberts of Little River, S.C.; and many special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Teresa Tolbert officiating.
Entombment will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin.
